Ovingdean is home to a 12th century flint church, St Wulfran’s, which is dedicated to the 7th century French archbishop Wulfram of Sens. The church is Grade I listed, a designation reserved for buildings “of outstanding architectural or historic interest.” Other buildings in the village are converted farm buildings from Ovingdean’s agricultural past but the majority were built after the First World War when the village expanded. The main residential streets have a similar look and feel to neighbouring Woodingdean, with low-rise detached and semi-detached houses typical of the interwar period.
