It is a 10-20 minute walk west from Kemptown to the center of Brighton, depending on how far east you start walking from. You can also catch plenty of buses from Kemptown into Central Brighton and Hove, it will take you about 15 minutes to Brighton Station which has links to London, Gatwick, and the South Coast. Since Kemptown lines the seafront, you are never more than a 5-10 minute walk from the sea, and the Marina lies just to the east of Kemptown. The BTN bikes are popular amongst members of the Kemptown community due to their proximity to the bike lane that runs the length of the seafront.
