Welcome To
The Van Alen Building

Van Allen Building, BN2 1WP, Marine Parade, Brighton

This prestigious building is rich with interesting history. Once the site of a derelict petrol station, the desirable seafront plot was transformed. In the 90s, architect Peter Rutter designed the building consisting of 38 apartments and 2 penthouses all with a sea view and allocated underground parking. Construction started in 1999 and was completed by 2001. Six terraced houses were also built at the back to fulfil the council requirements for affordable housing.

Fun Facts

Completed in 2001 The building was named after William Van Alen – architect of the Chrysler Building – to honor the Art Deco influences that inspired this more modern interpretation.

The high-end properties sold incredibly quickly to the high-profile buyers they were designed for. One of the apartments was even bought by former spice girl, Emma Bunton, for weekend getaways to sunny Brighton!
